Yes, I'm using the theory that if I say the post is off topic then it's ok for me to go off topic. My apologies, but I'm a little nervous about this.
I mentioned after my brief hiatus that I had been researching some social media options and deciding to upgrade not only my web presence but also the experience of my followers, readers, listeners, viewers, etc. As it is right now, my web host (imicrohost) is o.k. but fairly complicated and I'm essentially paying for an entire factory but only using the front office. The blog host (typepad) has also been great, but has nowhere near the functionality of WordPress when it comes to customizing pages, adding links, adding podcasts, etc. I've been trying for a while to integrate my website with my blog with etc etc, and finally am ready to do so.
I tell you this because I have no real idea what hiccups may happen along the way. I THINK I understand the process and if anything have probably over-researched it. But I've now packed my bags, loaded the moving truck and, in over the weekend will make the move from imicrohost to Site5 and from Typepad to WordPress.
If this works, on Monday there will be a new blog post with a new look and everything will be perfectly migrated along with the RSS feeds. If it doesn't work, there will be the distant sounds of crickets chirping as I try to figure out what I did wrong.
Your life, of course, will not be irreparably damaged, but if you have signed up through RSS or via email and you don't see any posts next week, check back to LeadershipMattersNow.com as you might have to resubscribe. Hopefully not, but we'll see.
