I met Ken Blanchard for the first time in the 90s. I was managing a restaurant in Georgia when it was decided that I was...to say the least...a marginal manager. So, they sent me to a seminar titled "Situational Leadership" conducted by Ken Blanchard and his staff. This was really a turning point for me as I had never thought about the concept of leadership as a discipline. Shortly after this seminar I went back to school and started on the path that has led me to here.
This interview with Dr. Blanchard is one of my favorites. He talks about what it takes to be an effective leader, gaining business results at the same time that we are able to add value to the people who follow us. Ken has matured with time and his philosophies of leadership relate to anybody who takes the time to view these videos.
